Physical Therapy, Memorial Day and Honor

It’s Memorial Day weekend… a time to relax and enjoy spending time with family and friends, getting the grill out, watching a baseball game or going to the mall.

At its heart, Memorial Day is about remembering and honoring those individuals who have made the hard choices that afford all of us the freedoms that we, at times, take for granted.

We collectively recognize all of the people in our Armed Forces who have served and who serve unselfishly today with honor, courage and a willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice if necessary.

So our greeting for this weekend should be “Honor Memorial Day”.

Speaking of courage and honor, I know how hard you work every single day. At times, it’s a thankless job and many of us aren’t in it (just) for the money.

We’re, more often than not, in it to make a difference and to earn a decent living … and why not?

Whether you have your own private practice or not, you became a physical therapist to make a difference.

A difference to the lives of everyone around you. A difference to the lives of your patients so they can go home to their family without pain … without discomfort.

It’s a noble thing to do.

And I want you to know that I appreciate you for it. And so do thousands of people. On behalf of the 20,000+ subscribers to my content emails, and readers of this blog, thank you for what you do, it’s honorable.

You Are My Hero and I Honor You.

You are one of the reasons that the world is a better place, the reason people can smile and enjoy Memorial Day with their families.

You are the light in the darkness.

The shade in the desert.

You are the physical therapist that makes a difference.

As the United States experiences a ‘boom’ among seniors, the future for physical therapists has never been brighter. Having said that, there are factors around us that are bigger than we are, more powerful than we are that stand poised to threaten our future. They aren’t going away.

It’s the survival of the fittest.

Market conditions dictate that you need to be more strategic than ever before with how you market, treat, bill and grow your practice. I appreciate you for giving me a part of your attention, and being a small part of your life as I try to help you reach that goal with an extensive range of tools, systems and workshops to help you stay one step ahead.

I thank you.

I respect you.

I admire you.

And I will always have your back, because I honor you.

Honor Memorial Day,

Nitin Chhoda PT, DPT
